Cassandro, The Exotico, is an intimate film portrait on one of the most reknown Mexican Exotico/Gay wrestler and leader of lucha libre. A fighter with lipstick and feathers who has lived all the harshness that comes with that life of abuse for a country and a sport that is deeply machist. Cassandro filled with wit, humor and glitters is today a saint for all and still on the ring, fighting with passion for life, lucha libre and all the excluded of society.
Dans le monde bariolé et amboyant de la Lucha Libre, Cassandro est une star aussi incontournable que singulière. Il est le roi des Exóticos, ces catcheurs mexicains travestis qui dynamitent les préjugés dans un sport pourtant fortement machiste. Malgré ses mises en plis, son mascara et ses paupières impeccablement maquillées, Cassandro est un homme de combat extrême, maintes fois Champion du Monde, qui pousse son corps aux limites du possible. Pas un combat sans qu’il ne soit en sang, qu’une épaule ne se déboite, ou qu’un genou ne parte en vrille ! Pourtant, après 26 ans de vols planés, d’em- poignades et de pugilats sur le ring, Cassandro est en miettes, le corps pulvérisé de partout et le moral laminé par un passé particulièrement dur et traumatique. Tête brûlée, il ne veut cependant pas s’arrêter ni s’éloigner du feu des projecteurs...
